Whatever you've heard about your credit score please listen. I am more concerned about hearing your
goals than seeing what you look like on paper. Don't let that FICO get you down, You're so much more! So let's prove
it in the world of California real estate, my world! Also, regarding the way agencies score credit: Why is it always a big deal when anyone touches your credit score to look at it? Do lenders care more if your FICO score is say 680 than 625? Let's say the minimum requirement for a better California loan with a lender is 625 then 625 is all you need. A higher fico score than that is all you need to be able to apply for that loan program with that lender. If your fico is one, two or sixty points higher than that doesn't matter. To illustrate the point, imagine a high jumper about to jump a bar that is raised 5 feet above the ground and the high jumper leaps and clears the bar by a foot and a half. The high jumper is only credited for jumping the 5 feet, the extra foot and a half does not get credited to the high jumper. Fico scores are the same. If the 5 feet were replaced with a 625 fico and you clear the fico score required for a bank loan program by sixty points the extra 60 fico points are meaningless. They do not do anything for you. You could have had your credit score checked a dozen times and still had qualified for the same loan. Banks and lenders who make the loan programs only want to see that your fico score makes it over the high jump bar so to speak by passing the minimum fico score required so there should not be any need to feel paranoid when someone runs a few credit checks. The chances are good it will not make a serious difference if you have a great credit score or if your credit score is in the middle of a certain category of borrowers to have your fico score deducted a few points because you will still most likely be in the same qualification bracket.
