If you could not make advance booking for some reason, you could still get last minute tickets. But it is not necessary that you will get the tickets exactly according to your preferences. For this reason, it is better if you can make reservations in advance.

Making advance bookings for flights can give you several advantages. The most important benefit is that you will be able to get the exact ticket you want. You will be able to fly at your chosen departure time, and not at the time that is available. And you will be able to buy the ticket at the exact fare that is listed by the airline. This may not be possible with flight last minute tickets.

Yet, it must be said that buying flight last minute tickets does not mean you will be paying through the nose. There are quite a few methods in which you can make savings though you are booking at short notice. However, it is also true that you might be saddled with a flight that you do not much like.

The first thing you will miss out on will be choosing a flight and seat for yourself. With flight last minute tickets, you will have to be happy with whatever is available with the airline. You will not be able to choose. The priority is always given to people who book well in advance.

However, it should be noted that it is possible to fly at the last minute if you really need that. And it is not necessary to pay through the nose either - you can save money if you know how to do it in the right way. But you might not get the usual luxury when you get such flight last minute tickets. That is a compensation you might have to put up with.
