When it comes to vacation destinations that emphasize having fun in the sun, nothing tops the Caribbean. Located just to the south and east of Mexico and north and west of Venezuela, South America where the waters are a stunning blue and the sun is hot, a Caribbean travel vacation has something for everyone, whether you are one for water sports, hiking, swimming, diving, and just simply frolicking on its white sand beaches.

But traveling to a warm destination like the Caribbean can be quite expensive, and for this reason, many people shy away from the idea of Caribbean travel. Indeed, why spend so much on a single vacation when you could visit much less expensive vacation destinations? Of course, many of these other places don't even come close to what Caribbean travel offers.

If you dreams are whispering "Caribbean", but your bank account demands something less exotic, take heart. What if you were told that you can have your piece of paradise without having to spend all of your hard-earned money?

Style and Glamour -- Anguilla

Anguilla is an island known for the style and glamour of its many resorts. The most northerly of the Leeward Islands in the Lesser Antilles, Anguilla is a popular Caribbean travel destination for visitors seeking the unequalled excitement, charm and romance that the islands are known for.

Rendezvous Bay Hotel and Villas may not have all that style and glamour, but what it lacks in that department, the hotel makes up for its location and unbelievable rates (starts at $130 while a villa costs $275). This Caribbean resort hotel has 46 rooms, all sitting directly on 50 palm-laden acres, including a one and a half mile long sugary sand beach. The resort has been recently refurbished, offering white tile floors and simple rattan furnishings, and is divided among a dozen low-rise buildings.

Another remarkable hotel group is Ku, which name means "sacred place" in the Arawak Indian language. With room rates starting at $295, this 27-suite hotel overlooks Shoal Bay East and is South Beach style, with minimalist white decor, air conditioning, and full kitchens.

Honeymoon Preference -- Antigua

Located just south of another popular Caribbean travel destination of Barbuda, Antigua promotes itself as a luxury Caribbean travel escape. Its many hotels and resorts located around the coastline are all favorites when it comes to honeymooning while visiting the Caribbean.

They say that Antigua is for lovers, but you don't need a honeymoon to take in the romance of this beautiful place. Just visit the Cocobay Resort and you'll be taken in by the incredibly romantic atmosphere. The resort is located on a hillside overlooking the Caribbean Sea. The 47 Creole-style cottages are decorated in soft pastel tones, and rates begin at an affordable $240. It's a small price to pay for a true piece of paradise.
